Hello and welcome to the Denver Catholic Biblical and Catechetical School’s blog, Odos. Odos is the Greek word for “road” or “way”. We know that Jesus has told us that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life, so this blog will explore the theme of seeking after Him, of following along Him the way to which he has called each one of us. We know that at times that road can be very difficult and also very beautiful. Since the Biblical and Catechetical schools are commited to seeking Jesus from the heart of the Church and through Sacred Scripture, this page will explore those themes and where they find themselves in Scripture and in the Church’s teaching and tradition. Various instructors of the school may share thoughts, reflections or teachings along these lines here. So please, sit back, make yourself at home and explore with us.
Who we are:
The Catholic Biblical School, a division of the St. John Vianney Theological Seminary lay formation, offers adults a four-year course of study of Sacred Scripture in accord with the teachings of the Church and with reference to its application to contemporary life.
Every book of the Bible is covered. Graduate classes are also offered on a regular basis for graduates. The goal of the Catholic Biblical School is to make God’s word alive and active in the Archdiocese of Denver and beyond.
